Schaeffler Friction Products Hamm GmbH

Schaeffler Friction Products Hamm GmbH started manufacturing clutch and industrial friction linings in Leverkusen as early as 1934 under the name of TEXTAR.

In 1962, the clutch and industrial friction lining production was relocated to its present location in Hamm/Sieg. As an innovation and service provider in the international market, the company converted to asbestos-free friction linings in 1985 and only two years later introduced the production of solvent-free friction linings. The manufacture of lead-free friction linings commenced in 2002 at our plant in Hamm/Sieg. This clearly and precisely shows our forward-looking orientation in harmony with environmental legislation.

2005 marked the year of incorporation into the Schaeffler Group and the expansion of the competence centre for friction materials and lubricants for industrial applications. The friction material technology for industrial applications has always been the metier of Schaeffler Friction. To this very day, precision and quality, flexibility and experience as well as individual solutions are expressions of our strength. At our location in Hamm/Sieg we create a further prerequisite for expansion of our portfolio of linings for both the automotive sector as well as for industrial applications.
